I’ve obviously been in quite a good mood recently, as I haven’t yet vented my spleen on this blog. I think the time has come!

Ok, so I subscribe to Google Alerts, and through this I came across a piece of writing that was on one of the many article directories available…

A Quick Update…

Well today is a hot one… Once again I can’t quite appreciate the nice weather, as I am indoors glued to a computer. I think fake tan was invented for writers!

Anyway, I thought I would just check in and add a quick update. At the moment I’m just finishing off a short piece for a family history magazine, which is due to hit the shelves next month. It’s about my great-great-great grandfather, who fought in the Crimean War. I love writing about family history and I certainly won’t be stopping here!

WordPress has just released version 2.8, or ‘Baker’, offering lots of new and interesting features.

Now installing and upgrading themes is as easy as installing and upgrading plugins. You can browse themes from the WordPress Dashboard itself and install them with a single click.

The Theme Browser lets you search themes to choose colours, number of columns and whether the width is fixed or flexible, so you can quickly select and install themes that match your criteria.

A Digital Camcorder

Invaluable for capturing an interview, or for adding fresh content to your blog/website.

The new breed of digital camcorders are much less cumbersome than their predecessors – most are now around the size of a mobile phone, and let you record on-the-go at the touch of a button. Many brands now have built-in memory too, so you don’t need to worry about changing tapes or memory cards.

Camcorders such as Flip Video come with built-in software  that enables you to share videos instantly by plugging the USB arm into your computer.

I thought I would ease myself into this overheated Monday morning by checking out Squidoo! For those of you not familiar with this website, it’s a place where you can easily set up single pages of content (each page is known as a ‘lens’), on any subject you want.
